NJLCA Names Board of Director

Westwood-based award winning Lawns By Yorkshire Chief Executive Officer, Steven Jomides, has been appointed to the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association board of directors. Since 1988 Lawns by Yorkshire has provided Green and sustainable landscape and snow services throughout New Jersey and New York. Lawns By Yorkshire serves multiple markets including multi-family, HOA’s, office parks, retail and shopping centers, school and corporate campuses, municipalities and industrial complexes. The company has been recognized as one of the nation’s leaders in snow removal services serving some of the most complex facilities in the Northeast. The New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association is a group of professional landscape contractors dedicated to advancing the integrity, proficiency and continued growth of the landscape industry. The news of his appointment was made at the NJLCA’s meeting on November 12, 2009. Jomides term as board of Director will begin on December 21, 2009 through December 20, 2010. As a member of the board, Jomides will guide the management and direction of the NJLCA and advise the Executive Committee on all matters of policy, personnel, business ethics, finance, property, activities and will oversee all such matters. The newly appointed Jomides will introduce the NJLCA to some of the best management practices, along with leadership principals that have helped to put his company on the map. In addition to being an active member and upcoming Board Member of the NJLCA, Jomides is a frequent speaker and subject matter expert on Green and sustainable landscaping, and cutting-edge snow practices. An active environmental steward, Jomides has also established the Cohen-Jomides Educational Scholarship Foundation which provides landscaping and horticultural students with financial scholarships to help assist them with their on-going education.
