In preparation for a major golf tournament, the Membership Board at a prestigious country club in the D.C. suburbs of Maryland decided that the course and surroundings needed a face lift. Among the many enhancements that were being considered were the golf cart paths and pavement area surrounding the club house. The landscaping design firm who managed the project wanted a product with the highest structural integrity and made sure to include EP Henry as part of their bid specifications for the resurfacing project.
The EP Henry sales rep, who managed the sales and support of the project, said the designers also wanted to incorporate more color to liven up the somewhat outdated surface, especially on the cart paths. Given the choice of all of the vibrant color options that EP Henry offers, they ultimately decided to use standard finish 4x8 pavers in a 90° Herringbone pattern integrating three different colors: Dakota, Harvest and Pewter blends. The size of the project was initially estimated at 5,000 square feet, and the sales rep added that it's quite possible that more pavers will be needed for future phases of the project.
As for the finished product? The General Contractor for the project happened to be playing golf with a former President at the club not long after the completion of the first phase. The GC said that the President commented on the pavers, saying "they looked great," while chatting with the construction workers. With that high approval rating from a former U.S. President, EP Henry's future looks bright on the links! |
